Key Green Programs and Achievements in 2011
In 2011, STATS ChipPAC implemented key environmental programs and initiatives.
Achieved 2.5% energy reduction (equivalent to 1.7% reduction in CO2 emissions [tonnes] / K-units) year-on-year through Energy Conservation Programs
- Heat recovery from exhaust and compressor hot air for re-use
- Implemented CDA efficiency improvement, machine CDA auto on/off control and CDA piping upgrade
- Improved efficiency of facilities equipment, i.e., chillers, centrifugal compressors and process vacuum
- Increased use of energy-saving LED and induction lighting in all areas
- Managed manufacturing equipment to high utilization with cold and warm shutdowns
Achieved 29% water reduction through Water Conservation Programs
- Use of waste water recycling system
- Use of recycled water in many manufacturing processes
- Built new ultra filtration plant to increase recycling
Achieved 83% waste recycling through Waste Recycling Programs
